Parents & Carers

At Kerswell Kids Preschool we believe that partnerships with parents/carers promotes children’s learning.

Working together we can actively support children’s learning, development and well-being.

Admissions

Admission to Preschool is for children aged 2, 3 and 4 years of age.

Parents/carers must complete registration forms in the first instance. Admission to Preschool happens in September, children are accepted to Preschool mid-term subject to places being available, if places are available in the summer term these will only be offered in the first instance to children that will be continuing at the Preschool in the following September.

If the Preschool is oversubscribed, the following factors will be taken into consideration when allocating places:

  • Children aged 3 and 4 eligible for 15hrs Early Education Funding (including 15hrs working entitlement)

  • Children aged 2 who have been referred by their local authority under the 2yr-old 15hrs funding scheme.

  • Children aged 2yrs eligible for 15hrs Early Education Funding (working entitlement)

  • Any other children

Funding & Fees

Kerswell Kids has adopted a flexible approach to allocating sessions in line with the Government’s early education funding (EEF).

Over the week, the Preschool is open for 10 three-hour sessions, 9am-12pm and 12pm–3pm, and 5 one and half hour sessions from 7.30am to 9am and these operate back-to-back Monday to Friday term time, (38 weeks of the year).

Early Education Funding is paid for 38 weeks (term dates are listed below).

In order to claim a child’s funding (for eligible 2-year-olds and for all 3 and 4-year olds) parents/carers are required to sign an early education funding declaration.

Working families of 3 & 4 year-olds applying for extended hours or 2-year-old funding, we will need an eligibility code issued by HMRC at https://childcare-support.tax.service.gov.uk

Term Dates

Please note the Preschool is open for 38 weeks of the year (The Government only funds 38 weeks of Early Education per year).

Please see how the weeks are divided over the terms for the academic year.
